The food is delicious, the place is lovely and clean, and the staff are great.Just be warned that portions are big so ask before you order (they don't do doggy bags).The trays come with two sides of your choice. The steak was delicious and cooked as ordered. The pork ribs were soft and juicy.We were both very happy and full after our dinners.

Had the beef rib and it was one of the best things I have eaten in a while. Staff were friendly and accommodating would definitely come back again.

Absolutely love this place - my partner & I moved to York a few months ago and The Pavement Vaults has quickly turned into one of our favourite spots. The atmosphere is great, staff are friendly and accommodating, service is fairly quick. The main star, however, is the food - the pulled pork burger is lush and hands down the best burger I've ever had. Highly recommend!

First of all the food here is just fab. (We had the Jacobs Ladder Beef rib, Beef Nuggets Fries Slaw etc) and great value for money. Nowhere else in York barbecues and smokes meat dishes like this place does you really need to go and try it out for yourselves. Another big plus is the friendly staff especially Jess who found us a quiet table (No 31) she was an absolute joy to deal with and talk to from the moment we walked in and will gladly answer all your questions about the menu should you need to ask. Also I'd like to mention our server, Milo, who was helpful, attentive, and very well mannered throughout. Top class food....Top class service. 💯 Recommended. Visited 21 April 2022.

Not only was the food well cooked and delicious, but I have an unusual allergy and the staff went out of their way to find me something I could eat safely! They also didn't charge me for my main because they made a mistake with my starter (couldn't have it with my allergies). Couldn't fault them. The restaurant is lively and comfortable and the staff were friendly and attentive. I would definitely go back!

Very busy so worth booking, dog friendly also! We had the normal burger, one of the best we have had! Great staff, friendly & great service. Good selection of drinks & great menu. Wanted to try a few different things! The standard burger was a great choice, a lot of fries with it too! Would highly recommend & will definitely return.

Popped in for lunch as was looking for places that did more than the standard "vegan burger option". (They also do a vegan burger). The vegan option ordered was the cauliflower pit tray with fries & slaw as the sides, all cooked & seasoned nicely. For a light bite I ordered the Beef shin nuggets & salt/pepper wings, both cooked nicely & great appetizers. The staff are friendly, the decor modern & they have a vast selection of beers/ales

1 of our favourite pubs in York, you can just relax and watch the world go by, with great drinks and a good range of food (the small plates are on another level when you fancy picky food with a few drinks), not forgetting the very pleasant staff, well worth a visit
