Restaurant Middletons Hotel in York

Great location, wonderful garden, nice rooms, really quiet. Badly let down by poor supervision of room staff who didn't restock coffee/milk, failed to clean bathroom and even rehung a dirty towel on the towel rack. These are minor irritations, but not the sort of thing that you expect when paying a premium price for a hotel room.

A really lovely, unique hotel.About 12 mins walk from York station in a quiet area. Comfortable, clean rooms with the added bonus of a mini fridge and coffee maker. Great shower.We had breakfast included, which had good options, and the service was fantastic - special mention to Anna who was the most brilliant hostess!

I cannot praise your hotel and staff highly enough. Every member of your team was so friendly and helpful; nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was probably the best we have ever experienced in any hotel, it was absolutely delicious. And to be upgraded to one of your stunning cottages for free was such a wonderful surprise. May I add though that your full marks would have been very much deserved regardless of this huge added bonus! Thank you to you all, we sincerely hope to return sooner rather than later.

Had a long weekend in this lovely hotel. Room was quite small, but really clean. Every member of staff that we engaged with was so friendly and helpful. A big shout out to Craig on the bar, who shakes a mean cocktail and lovely Anna in the dining room, who couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The hotel itself is situated in a great location, easy to walk and explore beautiful York. Would definitely recommend.

Great staff, really friendly. 24hr reception and lounge bar. Drinks are a bit pricey but good selection. Cosy room is a great size with good amenities (shower great). Hotel terrace in good weather is beautiful and grounds. Breakfast is great choice as well

A great experience. The staff were helpful and friendly. There was a wide range of drinks/food available. The hotel is in a good position about a 5 minute walk into the city. Our room was a little compact but it was clean and nice selection of toiletries and beverages. Would recommend.

A great Hotel for visiting York. Everything is in very easy walking distance from the Hotel, but it is in a nice quiet location.The rooms are very comfortable (we booked a comfy room as we were staying for a few days and the facilities were excellent). The food is good and the staff are very helpful.If you book direct with the Hotel, you get free parking - we also got more flexibility as we didn't want Breakfast or Dinner every night and the Hotel offers a room only rate if you want it.

Staff friendly, efficient and will do any thing to help. The decor in the room was good. Loved the touch of fresh milk in the fridge. Good quality refreshments items in the room. Had a good nights sleep.Very well placed to explore the city. The breakfasts were first class!Recommend it !

Magnificent hotel.Room was large & comfy. Kept spotless & housekeeping was to a very high standard.Breakfast & dinner were good quality , fresh, hot & tasty. Service brilliant & friendly.Cannot fault this hotel & on top of all that location is so central.Will be back, highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were great, friendly & welcoming. The room was lovely, clean, warm & relaxing to come back to after a day's walking in the chilly weather. Nice touches in the range of teas & coffees available in the room. Loved the huge bed to stretch out in!The breakfast was perfect, good quantity, well presented & plenty of choice. The dining room was very warm & beautifully decorated for Christmas. I would highly recommend this hotel.
