Sapphire Chinese Takeaway in York

Ordered from just eat, the driver didn’t get my address right and ordered it to the wrong block in my halls accommodation, after putting on delivery instructions to ring me to avoid this happening. When I rang, the driver says he already delivered it and (apparently) checked the name before handing the food over. The next day we find out he actually gave it to my male friend in another block, so lied to me on the phone that he handed it to a girl. Took 3 hours to come in the end and I never received any partial refund or apology. Rude to me on the phone also - do not order from here.

Instructed them to call upon arrival. They didn't do this then gave my order to someone else and then food arrived 2hrs late

In my humble view this is quite literally the best Chinese take away in York. The food is wonderfully fresh, service rapid (and when it isn’t it’s worth the wait).

Decided 40 minutes after ordering that they would cancel the order, meaning the money had already been taken out and now have to wait for a refund.Thankfully been able to reorder elsewhere but they shouldn’t be accepting the order if they don’t have the ability to make it and it certainly shouldn’t take 40 minutes to cancel it.

Will definitely not be ordering from this place again. That was the worst chicken fried rice ever. It must have been days old. Do you not think your customers can tell the difference between freshly cooked or something that has been cooked a few days ago? And your curry sauce has far too much salt in it! Diabolical.....

Ordered from here on just eat. Order was on time and still piping hot. Not sure what the takeaway is like in store but on just eat the meals were highly customisable which I love! We had the honey chilli crunchy shredded chicken and Kong poh crunchy shredded chicken. Both were very flavourful and not too sweet. Very reasonably priced and I will absolutely go here again

This was absolutely dire .. disgusting slop ! HOW THE HELL ARE THEY STILL OPEN? raw chicken - this place needs closing and fast ! Husband insisted on eating his and has been ill all weekend! - just read the reviews clearly too late! AVOID ! does not deserve even one star... total health risk! google reviews... the images of the owners fast asleep behind the counter says it all

Usually fair to middling run of the mill. Not this time, all I could taste was salt. TOO MUCH SALT. If you (the cook) read this go easy on the salt, we all like a pinch, but not that much! I'll order next week, no change and will go elsewhere!

Best Takeaway we've had in ages. Food was amazing. Very tasty, had pork fried rice, sweet and sour chicken balls, lemon chicken and some starters. My 4 year old daughter loves her prawn crackers! They missed the sweet and sour sauce off the delivery but then they arrived in 5 minutes with it so was recified really quickly which we we're impressed by and meant the food wasn't cold when it arrived. 5 Star service and delicious food!
