Stam & Maria Greek Street Food York in York

Great chicken with lots of flavour. They serve fries on top of the gyro chicken which I did not want. They happily did not add them on but then, didn't add a little extra chicken.The Greek flatbread that it's wrapped in is good but could be little softer and fluffier.

Visited today for the first time on a day trip to York, hopefully won't be the last. Had the feta and spinach filo pastries, absolutely to die for, fabulous! Coffee was really good too. Friendly service, impossible to fault the place.

Big queues but well worth the wait. Beautiful chicken gyros, decent portion and easy to eat despite looking awkward. A good lunch spot for some street food in York shambles area.

Chicken gyros was amazing, the best ever :)and I tried for many times when I visited Greece but this one was amazing, The food is soo good then people stay in the queue for minutes to grab one of the food speciality of Stam and Maria :)We will come again!

It is a small Greek coffee shop.It sells greek frappe and some other snacks, sweets such as baklava.It is in the centre of York and it gas outside sitting area.When the weather is good sitting outside, next to the flower stalls and listening live music is great

Had the Gyros wrap from here today and found it a bit disappointing.Chicken was quite dry and wasn't very hot either. Left practically all of it. Pitta was tasty but rest was very disappointing.

Excellent coffee, perfect location for sitting in the sun and listening to some great artists performing too. Love being able to come here even if just passing, a great standard for any competition.

We were visiting York for the day and stumbled across these guys in Shambles. Beautiful food and great service. Would recommend them 100%

I love the contrast of this beautiful independent business being opposite a major chain like Pret. It’s a totally different experience. The coffee quality is incomparable and they genuinely care for their business and customers. I would never go back to Pret after trying this place.Edit: they put your sugar in before the milk, always a sign of a good barista!

Really good and recommend!!! The taste of coffee beans are really impressive so the quality of coffee is perfect. The service is also good and pays attention to details such as holding straws with clips to customers. 😉😉😉
