Excellent Pub off the main tourist drag. Good Real Ale. Goal mouth action in the Gents.

Traditional pub the tourists don't know about with very good beer.

Great little find - just off Micklegate. Great welcome, great place to be. Good selection of ale, spirits etc. Well worth a visit. 👍🍺

The best atmosphere, the best staff, the best pub dog and an insane sunday dinner

A must visit friendly pub. Despite us turning up rather intoxicated and it being a busy Saturday the landlord let us uncover the bar billiards table and took the time to teach us how to play. Super friendly staff, warm and welcoming atmosphere, great drinks on tap. Absolutely recommended.

Found this pub completely by surprise whilst taking a break in York this week with friends. At ten thirty in the morning the door opened and the landlord took the time to speak with us. Give us recommendations for where to go and was genuinely welcoming that we planned our day around ending up back there for the evening. We didn't make the wrong decision. We were welcomed by all and had a fabulous time. Then we were invited out in york with the locals. Buddy and Lenny were delightful too. We would definitely go back. Janice and Andy. Karen and Mal

The only proper pub down, (off), Micklegate. Great cask ales and no shouting hordes.
