The Black Bull in York

Amazing place to eat. Highly recommend. Clean. Really friendly, happy staff. Clean. Great prices. Food was immense. Ordered a mega mix grill and a loaded surf and turf. All piping hot and sizzling. It tasted delicious. Was perfect. If you visit York you must come in here for a bite to eat. I would book as very busy.

The atmosphere is what you expect, a nice pub, with excellent foods. Staff and severer was great, polite professional. They have optional outdoor areas as well. Expect this place to be busy in the summer months/football. Was fairly quiet when I visited. Will visit again

Nice atmosphere and good food Was staying at the travel lodge and spent and evening in the ajoined pub. Nice atmosphere which was friendly, helpful stuff. Ordered steak which I really enjoyed. Good value. Would come again.

Stayed at travelodge next door ,had 2 evening at black bull one of them being a Christmas meal. All the food very tasty. Would have given them a 5 but went in for breakfast and they were not doing them anymore.

Friendly pub with great food.

Definite value for money and cheap. Football on lots of screens, if that's what you would like to its for you. Staff were nice, table and seating also nice enough. Not somewhere I'll return, but it was busy and popular on the day of my visit.

I dropped in last week with friends for a quick meal and drink. The bar was busy, the atmosphere friendly and we easily found a booth to sit in. The food service was reasonably quick, the food hot and tasty pub fare, simple pub food done quite well. All in all not excellent but would certainly return to eat and drink.

It is a while since I visited here with my husband, but feel it deserves a positive review. I had a steak which was cooked very well and to my preference, with the exceptionally tasty diane sauce. What I was particularly pleased with was the prices for very well cooked food.Many a time I have eaten at very expensive eateries where the quality would not match this. As we are not local to the area we will be looking closer to home for another of this chain in the hopes the standard is across the board. Well done .
