The Blue Boar in York

A pub with a really nice atmosphere in the heart of York. TVs dotted around, good music playing, and a small outside area (for when the weather is warm).Good selection of drinks available, and lots of seating for a weary traveller to take a moment to rest and refresh. Didn't have anything on the menu but took a peak to see what was available. Korean style fries seemed interesting.Less than ten minutes from most of the things to see in York so it's a good place to go.

Super friendly bar staff a beautifully decorated interior, bright, but cosy, the pizza menu looked excellent and well priced, especially the pizza and pint for a tenner deal, 3 times a week...shame we already had dinner planned! Would visit again and recommend

Slightly hidden away from the street but easy to get to. Not a massive menu for food but enough choices for a quick bite. Friendly staff

Wicked place, go for a pint, and go downstairs, well cool Ask staff about the history of the coffin, it's interesting :)

Excellent pub with a fantastic selection of drinks. Always good when you manage to get a seat in York on a Saturday! Not to say it wasn't busy though!

Great bar and fantastic staff. My only criticism is no hot water in toilets for washing hands. A basic welfare requirement anytime, especially now in the times we are in.

Very good pub, not been in for a while. Timothy Taylor Landlord, nice drop of ale. Extremely helpful and obliging staff who went the extra mile. When staff are good, you go back to a place. Was busy. There is more seating downstairs. Had a chip butty, yum. Nice dry, non oily chips. 👍🙂And you do indeed go back, just did yesterday. Polite, courteous, attentive staff. Another good meal. Blue Boar are participating in the Eat Out To Help Out and I didn't require to book.

Just tried the new pizzas from the Blue Boar - very nice! 😋 Lovely home- made quality and just the right base and size. Garden Delight is a delight and chicken and pesto is.. well chicken and pesto!

A Timothy Taylor pub which usually means weak, watery beers. We both decided to have a gin and lunch. Menu was typical pub fare so we split a burger. It was good and the chips were on point. This is a very nice pub. Poor light made taking interior photos a challenge. The staff was friendly and the toilets were clean. Will visit again when in York.
