The Blue Fin Fish & Chip Shop in York

Came in tonight experienced extremely rude service, chips were bagged up on placing fish order asked for fresh chips he put them back in and bagged the same cold ones.Rude to a customer on the phone saying half hour wait yet no customers!!!Burn’t batter on sausage and fish.Young chap rude to his female colleague.Never going back as absolutely appalling service, 0 customer service and 0 quality food.

Usually I can rely on this chippy to provide great fish and chips. But not today unfortunately. The chips were cold and the fish dry. Not up to their usual standard at all. I’ll put it down to an off day this time! (22/5 @ 14.30 approx).

Ordered some food, A large £4 chips came with a quarter box of chips in it. I wanted salt and vinegar I did not get that either. They put chicken wingsIn the box to make it look more full. Ordered Irish curry sauce that was wrong we received the lumpy stuff. Did not receive our other box of chips that was supposed to come with my chicken wings. We rang the the shop and the guy said we don’t deliver lol and we didn’t say what curry sauce we wanted. Which weDefinitely did we have proof of on our order. they didn’t care at all. ( Shocking service )

Great local fish and chipper. Really tasty fish cooked fresh on demand. Always a queue so must be good!

Still my favourite Chippy in York with great food, portion sizes and friendly staff. Hit n Miss going near Opening time as I've had a bad experience with warm ups but my last opening time experience on a Saturday was great. Recommend you phone in your order beforehand even if 5 or 10 minutes away as it can be busy depending on what time you visit.Please support your local shops/businesses.Thank-you :-) Upgraded from 3 to 5 Stars again after visiting at opening times 05/03/2022

Changed from 3/4 star to 1 star. Visited monday this week to be served at higher prices than most fish shop in area and irritating staff…

The best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Fresh and perfectly done. Sublime!

Everything about this chippy is amazing. The smell when you walk up to the door, the staff, the service and especially the grub. Fan favorite of the fish and chips. Plain and simply but made to perfection. Best chippy I've ever had.

Fantastic place to taste a typical fish and chips. We went because it is recommended to be one of the best in the UK, and it's well worth it the place. The food is delicious. One desire that I love from the dish is that is not oily as many fish and chips. Also, the ration is fair enough. Furthermore, there is not much queue to do and the service is extremely professional and quickly.

This is the best fish and chip shop you will ever eat from. The fish is so fresh and tasty plus Excellent service and delivery all round ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. I would definitely recommend you try it and you won't be disappointed. We can't wait to return to York just for your fresh fish and chips. So good we had eaten 3 nights out of the 7 we had stayed in York Thank you see in April 2021.
