The place has a really good feel to it - the TVs are not loud so they don't disturb your chat or meal, and you can hear music. The drinks are great - they have Camden Brewery beer with their very distinctive glasses. We had fish and chips and steak and chips - they were brilliant for the price. Very well cooked and delicious. The Only constructive criticism I could give was that they could do with more types of single malt whisky, and perhaps more gin. But, that's a very minor niggle, so this super pub and staff still get a Fantastic Five Stars!

English pub, lots of taps, food is good, enjoyed a steak and ale pie with mash and veg.

Fantastic for a night out, great food though a little cold fantastic selection of beer, very helpful staff. All at a very reasonable price.

I enjoyed my meal and the beer was good quality. It’s a really comfortable place to be with excellent chairs and not too loud or busy in general.I would say that the nachos were stale and thus a little chewy.

Nice pint (Doom Bar on draft), great staff, good food and tvs to watch the footy on. What else does a man need. After many years of visiting York, I took my family in there for the first last week and now wish I'd have taken the plunge 10 years ago....Great pub 10/10

Along the Rd. from The Savoy, propped in after a stroll around Trafalgar Square. Looked pleasant, quiet, clean, comfortable. Good beers, friendly barman, he needed to be, as I managed to spill G n T all over the table. Cleaned, sanitised the table, no problem for him.Definitely recommend, and would return 👌.

The food was very tasty and hot I had the lentil cottage pie and if I could I would defo recommend it to anyone wanting to go here, only con was how busy it was, with barley any tables to sit at but allover very good and staff were super nice

Visited recently with my dad, sat in a sunny window drinking a cold beer with a club sandwich, absolutely delicious. The staff were really welcoming, so much so we stayed for another pint! One staff member even went to the trouble of opening the downstairs toilet to save my dad a trip upstairs, thank you!

We went in on a Friday evening and for Saturday lunch and there was great service and a real buzz in the atmosphere. Food was fantastic, especially the chips. They had a good variety on tap too, with a local black sheep beer which was great! Would definitely recommend for lunch/dinner/evening drink! They were also very accommodating to our big fluffy dog, bringing him a bowl of water and giving him head pats!
