Really lovely pub - we didn't eat but the pizzas looked great. The pub is advertised as dog friendly and this is certainly the case with water bowls available and staff willing to pay attention to needy puppies! We will be back!

Only stopped for a quick pint. Nice selection of ale, atmosphere & seating. Will try food next time.

Great place , fantastic outdoor seating area . 11 of us went for lunch , everyone enjoyed their meals and the two dogs were given biscuits 👍. Food well priced and our individual bills where easily sorted as we left . Would definitely recommend

Certainly better than the nearby Charles XII. But. In terms of food, I can recommend their pizzas (only made on certain nights), but not necessarily anything else. I had their fish and chips with 'tarragon lemon peas'. Fresh tarragon is delicious, and on the menu this sounds ideal. However, what came was standard peas draped in the occasional leaf of dried tarragon. Dried tarragon is just not the ticket. It tastes like vaguely damp hay, like a pet shop. You can do better than this. Just take a potato masher to some lightly cooked frozen peas, add butter, a touch of garlic and mint, and you'd have me singing unqualified praise. The fish was too far from fresh and the batter excessively dark and heavy. It's a real shame because this is an independent place, with some local beers, very good serving staff, and it still deserves patronage. Just choose food with caution.

Popped in today with a friend for Dinner and whilst the service and beer was of a satisfactory standard the dining experience was way below par!! Ordered the pie of the day and at £11.00 I certainly didn't expect a Asda smart price special there was hardly any meat in the pie the veg looked like it should have still been on the allotment and the mash was certainly not fresh and resembled something I would have pasted the walls with!! If your going to sell cut price supermarket food please have the decency to let your customers know before they part with there hard earned cash!!
