This is a really nice pub with a great atmosphere and you are made very welcome as soon as you arrive. Typical pub menu with plenty to choose from, tasted lovely and well presented. If you have 2 large wine glasses you get the rest for free. Staff were friendly and easy to chat with. No hesitation in recommending the good pub for an enjoyable evening.

Great atmosphere and they were very accommodating and allowed us to order food even though the kitchen was closing. We stayed for the quiz which was good fun too. Overall one of our favourite places.

Best night in york!We found this pub after a terrible experience at the lamb and lion next door. Live music from the threetles and an amazing atmosphere! Very reasonably priced drinks!We had the best night here!

A really nice place to stop for a drink after coming down from the city wall. It seems to be a very popular place with customers popping in for one before heading off again. An added bonus was a cracking pint of lager - and a lager shandy.

Called in on way back to out hotel.Hubster had whiskey and I have coffee.We had the cake to share.Loads we've tried over the decades, lol, have been uber sickly sweet. But this one's lovely.The vanilla ice cream seemed to be home made and fab.

How can we not to have Yorkshire pudding in York ! Huge one with good gravy, beef is a bit better than the pork! Very friendly staff and great customer service. The interior design is nice too. Recommended!
