The Micklegate Social in York

Youthful in its approach but not necessarily in its clientèle. Friendly staff, decent selection of local beer. Worth a visit.

I like this place more than 3 stars, good beer and nice service when not too busy. But they took away some seating in the back room and put in the ugliest furniture ever. Also I enquired about an art exhibition there, the guy behind the bar promised to pass on my details but they never bothered to reply.Oh and the street level toilets are an utter disgrace!

By far our favourite place in York!! Great staff, chilled, friendly atmosphere aswell as THE best espresso martini!! A must if you're visiting.

Lovely break to the day , just in the middle of the castle city walk.. tasty food, freshly made drinks are fantasticI am not kidding, go downstairs toilet for a great experience, the atmosphere truly takes you back in time!

Amazing bar, with great real ales and gorgeous cocktails. It was the perfect place to stop and rest after exploring the city.

A relaxed atmosphere and good selection of teas and coffees. Friendly staff and comfy sofas to lounge on. Nice place. Would recommend.

Lots of places to sit comfortably. Friendly staff. I visited late evening and it was busy but still managed to get a seat. Will visit during the day as the large glass windows will be perfect for watching the world go by while I drink a delicious cocktail.

Popped in for a quick cuppa before work. It's a lovely comfy place with plenty of seating areas. A few tables outside so if it's sunny it's ideal. It's a clean and welcoming environment and the toilets are clean ( always a bonus 😂 ) staff are really friendly and was served by Meg and later Katie who both you can have a laugh with and follow all covid guidelines. it has a a couple toasties to choose from, really yummy, and a few sweet treats like brownies etc.. They also do a selection of beers and have plenty of spirits on show and the cocktails/ mocktails look amazing. So if in the area pop in and give them a try ☺️

Lovely relaxed atmosphere and the staff were really friendly. Not a huge selection of food, mainly toasties and a few sweet treats but delicious and perfect if your looking for something small! Great selection of drinks, lots of gins and the cocktails looked amazing.
