The Millfield in York

Having sampled breakfast and dinner in here for the last week, the staff are really helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet catered for everyone, from fresh fruit, pastries and cereals all the way through to the full English. Dinner was spot on too, succulent steak through to tender and tasty chicken salads, something for everyone to enjoy.Indoor and Outdoor seating with plenty of parking too!

We had a couple of evening meals and breakfast here after staying at premier inn next door. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful. Food was hot, freshly cooked, and delicious. Really enjoyed our time here.

We had a family reunion which included 8 family members last night 22 February at The Millfield After our meal I was amazed to see that the waitress started collecting the empty plates whilst other we still eating . This to me is a definite no no . The same thing happened again whilst eating desert and the waitress even tried to take a plate away which was not finished with. We then asked if we could order coffee snd we’re told the coffee machine was on a clean cycle so this was not possible. This is the first time we had all met since Covid and although we enjoyed seeing each other the experience of your venue was very disappointing and we shall not return.

First time in this particular beefeater/premier Inn, all the staff were very pleasant/helpful from First to last minute, but the best praise must go to the chef me and the wife could not fault the food/ menu in any way, often go to York/Wetherby this will definitely be First choice from now on.

Went for breakfast today with friends for the 1st time, was good value for money, plenty of choice and nice and clean, would advise going around 9/9.30, as I noticed around 10.30 am not a lot left, and they were not topping up stuff then.

Came here for Christmas Dinner and paid near enough £50 per head for a basic dinner. I myself had the festive turkey, with a single pig in blanket, it's pretty standard to have at least five with even a roast dinner but to just get one was laughable. No sight of any stuffing and lashings of gravy was just a dribble. We were booked in for 2pm but didn't get our starters until 3pm and then waited another hour for the main which as you can probably tell was disappointing, not just by the wait but for the quality of the food. We went for four courses but had not record of us having the fourth and had to prove we paid for it. The only good thing was the dessert.

Awesome, just been for Christmas day dinner and it could not have been better, staff were quick, attentive, and friendly, perfect space between courses. Honestly can't recommend highly enough. We go out for Xmas Dinner every year and usually pay much much more than this but it has never been as good as today. Thank you all so much.

Visited here only because it was the closest eating venue to the Premier Inn in York. Whilst they have tried to make it festive, it felt a bit empty in terms of ambience. The staff members are nice enough, but beware of the personal compliments before you pay your bill, just a tad obvious and sycophantic.The food is not great, and that's by Beefeater standards. If you can eat somewhere else I would suggest you do, but if this is your only choice, be prepared for disappointment, and a relatively sizeable bill considering the quality.
