Nice rooms, nice pub, easy access to centre of York

Really nice pub with friendly locals

I had a wonderful night, the staff were amazing and the regulars even better. I would recommend to anyone. Rooms only got a 0 because I didn't stay in one, no frame of reference. X

We loved it- the room was nice and very warm. They did take care in creating a comfortable room.We had everything you could possibly need- iron, hair dryer, towels and toiletries. We came in a particularly cold time but the heating is quite good so inside you are fine and warm. Although it seems out of center- you regularly have buses and takes a max ot 5-10min to go to the center. I prefered walking which is around 20-25 depending on speed of walking.Now what you will not find so much info online is the pub which started serving food recently.The food is delightful. We tried a couple dishes and all were very generous portions, tasty and warm. Their chunky chips is to die for (my friend made me try as she said it is one of the best she has ever had..she did not lie).Staff has been kind and helpful so 5 stars from us.Dishes on photos (we tried more but do not have photos of)- Chunky chips with chilli con carne- fish and chips- toad on the hole

Great service great food value for money will visit again

Been going in Nags for over 50yrs, never again, full of students using phones to do quiz and being rude when confronting them. Very sad

Lovely staff the toilets very clean looking forward to the nags doing food again its a very nice pub showing sports if you want to watch it only comment city centre prices in a out of town pub thank you to the nags staff see you soon

Great place to stay. Friendly bar staff and very helpful. 20 minutes walk from town centre with live sky sports. Room was great, only down side was plumbing to our toilet was a bit noisy at times! Will definitely book again.
