The Old White Swan Restaurant in York

Very good, not the most extensive of menus, but what we had was very good. All the staff we dealt with where competent, attentive and friendly. Would certainly visit again.

Lovely place, good food n beer, drinks. Warm, intimate atmosphere . These boxes all ticked.Not so good bar staff, miserable like the weather during our visit. Nice meal but unfortunately the menu seems to have been reduced quite a bit since our last visit in June last year. A pleasant bar to visit with excellent staff and quality beers.

Most of the beers weren't available so I only had a option of about 3. Food was ok but expected better. It came out very quickly suggesting it was just warmed up.

I had fish and chips a small portion which was huge but very delicious. Pub nice and had a good atmosphere staff efficient and friendly.Only complaint was there was a bit of a draft coming through the window but I get this is what you get with old pubs. I should have chosen the table by the open fireOverall had a lovely meal and enjoyed the evening .

Came here for a quick beer between shopping, and lush little beer garden. Sat outside as its covered so wasn't too cold. Good beers on tap and it was busy and really nice atmosphere. Definitely want to come back to try some of the food as we saw some coming out and it looked lush.

There is a bit of something for everyone here. Sadly we couldn't get in to eat, so can't review the food, but we did manage to squeeze in for a pint .... There is the sports and TV section, for folks who like that, a normal pub, food area, which is cosy with an open fire. And a separate restaurant. And an out door covered canopy for those who want to have some free air around them. Beer was good and staff friendly.

The food here was amazing, I had the garlic schnitzel with fries and I couldn't fault it! The rest of my groups food looked great too, service was relatively fast and always friendly. The server knew a lot about the different gins and other spirits they had which was great!

Usual pub grub menu. Ordering from the App is possible. Meal was ok. The pulled beef brisket sandwich wasn't great but my husbsnd's chicken schnitzel was lovely.

Food was poor small portion, wilted Veg with stalks left on. Microwaved not Fresh. Overpriced. Needs a lot of improvement in presentation. We had to eat due to being hungry but you can see the veg and portion size
