From the moment we entered the pub the barmaid was incredibly welcoming and chatty. Sometimes when you enter a pub as an obvious tourist there can be something of a stigma that your kind isn't suffered greatly. Not the case with The Three Tuns...forget a home away from home, we found a pub away from pub! We would happily drink here as often as we could if we lived closer to the area. Highly recommend this awesome place with their friendly staff and acoustic live music gems like Will Dreyfus. Look forward to the next time we're in the area 😁

Cozy and great ambiance. Among the wide variety of beers and ciders, you may find some exquisite local ciders. However, you shall taste them by asking for a half of a pint since they are not offered on 1/3 of pint as the beers do. Overall, a great experience.

Fantastic old pub in the heart of York with great atmosphere, good beer and good value for money menu. We were pleasantly surprised by the curry burgers and nacho dish options to traditional pub food but they tasted great!

This pub looked really intriguing from the outside, one thing was it looked like it had been built by the Romans,it looked that old and secondly you see inside which adds to the mystique.Having said all that we wanted a drink anyway and we were curious,it was a really nice pub inside and the place had a really good vibe, suffice as to say, trust your instincts.

Popped in for a drink only, no pressure to eat, like most places. Friendly bar staff and live in manager. Given sample drinks to see which I preferred. Thatcher's Gold, cask ales. Historic Inn, resident ghosts, dim lighting, separate seating areas. Clean ladies loo. Events weekly. Go!

Popped in here in December 2021 and really enjoyed. Fantastic old world little pub with the staff friendly when I visited. Location wise just a few minutes walk from the Shambles, and not quite as heaving at the time I visited. Well worth checking out if you are ever near by or in York.

This is a fantastic pub with a great menu and such first class service throughout. The moment you walk in through the door you are made most welcome by the very friendly staff who are most helpful. The chef does a good selection pub food, very tasty, well presented and all at decent prices. We stopped in for lunch while walking through the town and really enjoyed our time here, so I would definitely recommend The Three Tuns as a great place in York for a drink or a meal.

Lovely oldie worldie pub, have been before and never lets me down. Not a big pub and you have to time it just right other wise you wont get in. Fish finger sandwich was delicious and came with a generous helping of chips and salad also had the mulled cider delicious.

It's a great little pub. With a great atmosphere. They have a range of ales, beers and other drinks to choose from. The staff are welcoming, polite and friendly. The bar and seating areas are kept clean and tidy. The food can be a little costly depending on what you ask for, but it is worth it, its tasty and really good quality. We will definitely be coming back here on our next visit to York.

A very nice and cosy pub, with a lovely interior that's full of character. The staff were helpful and kind throughout the whole visit. The food was tasty, served in generous portions, very nicely presented and arrived quickly after ordering as well. I would particularly recommend the mushy peas - the best I've ever tried. Prices were also very respectable. Would suggest that anyone planning to go to York should visit this pub.
