Very cosy place, outside there is a massive beer garden and a play area with equipment for the kids. Drinks are good value as well. Food is served but l didn't get chance to eat any.

Lovely place to eat with lovely food and the land lady was very welcoming. She even gave our hungry puppy a bowl of food, a toy to play with and money off our bill, lovely service and will definitely be going again.

Amazing food, great service and good beers! We were in the area and found it with the help of Google maps, and we were so glad we did! Food was delicious, and the horseradish scone veggie meal was delicious. My parents had cajun chicken and posh fish pie (which was very posh!) and they said their meals were fantastic too.Next time we're in the area we'll visit again.

Nothing but good things to say about The Woodman. Food was absolutely lovely. Landlady was extremely friendly and helpful and the pub was extremely dog friendly. Huge beer garden at the back with children's play area. I thoroughly recommend a visit here.

The missus and I decided to check The Woodman out after it being recommended to us.It certainly did not disappoint! I had the duck and the missus had the seafood risotto. Possibly the best meal we've had in the York area!Cooked and presented perfectly.Staff were very welcoming and very informative. 11/10! Would recommend highly! We will certainly be returning.

What a fabulous lunch today. Proper food presented well and with friendly service. We shared a seafood platter that looked and tasted so good. My wife chose a seafood rissoto whilst I went for the steak pie chips and peas. They did not disappoint. Our compliments to the chef and staff.

Great food! Went here with friends on New Year’s Eve and the meals were really good. The pub is dog friendly and the staff were super accommodating. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Visited the Woodman as a family of 5 today for Sunday Lunch. I always think that you can tell what a place is going to be like by the feeling you get when you walk through the door. We walked in and we were immediately greeted by a warm and friendly manager. We were shown to our table and served by equally warm and friendly staff throughout the entire meal. We had our dog with us and she was made to feel equally welcome, the staff are not just dog tolerant but genuinely dog friendly. Our food was absolutely gorgeous. We didn't have starters but we saw some and they looked lovely. We had mains and desserts and every single one of us was happy. The meals were well cooked, piping hot and there was plenty to eat and it was well presented. The place was packed but there was absolutely no impact on the level of service. I always think a place that includes cauliflower cheese and extra gravy as standard without being asked is a great place! This is a lovely pub with a lovely interior, great atmosphere, lovely staff, gorgeous food at reasonable prices and is inclusive of dogs and children. We will be back again, absolutely loved it, thank you.

Update 15/08/19. Came back for dinner. Food was equally good. Sadly the service was provided by two different girls. They were awful! We ended up leaving after trying to order dessert, but no one would come to take the order. These two should be canned!!Visiting from USA and found this wonderful place! We had the two dishes and dessert pictured. All fabulous!! The staff and service were equally wonderful and so pleasant!!
