Ordered a takeaway to be delivered to my hotel. Onion bhajees & poppodoms were OK, but the main dish (a lamb vindaloo) was very poor. The lamb was really tough and seemed to be mostly gristle, while the sauce was just passable. I ordered also a garlic naan, which I imagine had garlic with it, but I couldn't taste it, and it was very stodgy. For the first time in decades, I binned my main course: it was inedible. I shall not be giving this restaurant a second chance. Avoid. There are plenty of much better indian restaurants in the area (esp. the "Indian Elachi" which is in a league of its own)

Gutted, we ordered 2 Murchi Kormas. Sauce was bland and just tasted of nothing. Chicken tasted bitter, £27 spent and no bottle of coke.

BEST Indian food in York! Takeaway or dining in is excellent, always choose something from the Chef's special section, really really delicious food. Sunday-Wednesday they do a 3-course dine-in special for 10.95 and it's a terrific deal.

Portion sizes are astronomical. Flavours, spot on. Dependable. Excellent value. BYOB so will end up being way cheaper anyway

Was very tasty, just a bit watery I just hope it wasn't cooked from frozen. If meals are cooked from frozen and i get another one from here I hope I don't get food poison. Haven't yet so touch wood.

Rang the order through and was told it would be ready in half an hour and it was. Crispy spicy onion bhajis with plenty of sauce. If you love a Korma then try the Shahi Vegetable Masala. Plenty of creamy red sauce, with chunks of potato, chickpeas and aubergine. Served with mushroom rice and a garlic naan. Delicious 😋
