Waitrose Cafe in York

Small car park. Medium sized building. Good selection of products, food and home ware. Offers throughout the store. Prices can be on the high side. The visit was marred by an incorrectly priced item, a large red label covered the original price which made it appear cheaper than it actually was. Shop carefully.

The manager who was on duty at the cashier's desk on the evening of March 10th was very rude. I didn't know her name. She seemed very busy. I am very grateful to her for taking time out of her busy schedule to reprimand me, because I live nearby, and I also need to buy a lot of food and drinks, so I pushed my trolley to go shopping. I often shop in this store, and I expect to get services that meet their prices. Like another kind old woman, I was pushing a trolley to check out, and the manager called me from behind rudely and warned me rudely that I couldn't use my own trolley, but she didn't tell another person who used their own trolley. I don't understand why, just because I have yellow skin? When I asked her about the specific reasons, she ignored me and was very busy. I shopped here many times, and all the employees here were very friendly and smiling. I don't think this female manager belongs here, and under her arrangement, another girl is responsible for checking out for me. This cashier is also very impatient. I don't know if it's because our shopping at the closing time disturbed their mood of coming off work, and I have never been treated like this before.

Good quality produce, reasonable prices, Waitrose Minced Beef and Onion pie on my list, could not find any, trying a Beef and Ale pie, wait for judgement, the mince beef and onion are really good, when available.

Nice to have a Waitrose in the city and it has a good range of food you'd expect. However, I was a little surprised at how unloved the store looks and it could do with a bit a a revamp inside and out. For example the outside cladding is green with algae and inside the aisles are looking a bit tatty.

Very poorly maintained store with very inflated prices, store a mess with half the staff not wearing masks properly, security guard coughing and spitting out the front of the shop as well as throughout. Blatant disregard for customer health and COVID guidelines, would highly recommend avoiding, as for prices, with a home bargains less then a minute away which sells the same items for a fraction of the price, a no brainer. I also appreciate the checkout worker who decided to wipe their nose and mouth before touching all my purchased items, much appreciated. First and last time going into a Waitrose!

I love shopping at Waitrose, it's quite a treat as we don't live near one but I was very surprised & disappointed to see so many empty shelves & freezers. What I could buy I am happy with though.

This store is not suitable for severely disabled or less able persons. The parking time allocated is not enough for people with limited ability. The parking company they employ practice open Disability Discrimination and will intimate and fine anybody who parks over the parking time this site is for able bodied people only,

Very good range of fresh fruit and veg. And th only place I can get one my gluten free items. However I'm not a fan of the people that sit for the charity boxes. They somehow feel a bit pressurey as they are so close.

Went to click & collect to get my online order, such a shame that the woman who served me was so miserable and rude, had the attitude like she didnt want to be there.I was so excited to get my order but she just ruined it by being so miserable.Dont know if she was in a mood because i had to ring the bell as nobody was at the host point when i arrived. Not a festive place to shop at all!

Ran out of my favourite whisky and after a little research found it at Waitrose on offer at an absolutely unbelievable price. Popped into the local branch in York, what a lovely place and absolutely wonderful staff.
