Yak and Yeti Gurkha Restaurant in York

Can't recommend this place enough. The food was so good we cancelled our other dinner plans to have another meal here. The buffalo momo were to die for as well as the rich lamb curry and smoky flavours of the Gurkali pork. Thank you Yak and Yeti! Hope to see you soon

Reasonable food, not too expensive. Their attitude was not good though, booked a table for six people at 6:30, had three courses and were presented with our bill at eight o’clock as the next sitting for our table had arrived. We hadn’t even finished our drinks. Will not return.

Cozy, well decorated restaurant with great service and food to match. We ordered the dumplings and the beef to start but it was so good we polished it of before pictures. I really came for the chili chicken and chow mein and both didn't disappoint. The only let down was the black lentils which didn't have any flavor. Also ordered Annapurna chicken and the lamb Tama the latter was really yummy.

Excellent choice of food. Each dish we had was full of flavour. I could eat this again. Very attentive service. Lovely atmosphere.

Authentic, delicious food with super friendly service. The best mo mos in the North of England. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

Beautiful food in a lovely place with friendly attentive staff. We've never had Nepalese food before but have looked at this restaurant for at least 10yrs. Today we decided to try it and we are not disappointed. Really unique flavours (cross between chinese/indian/thai) from the starters to the mains and they were all fantastic. Sure we'll be back in the future.

First time we tried Nepalese food and we loved it. This is a hidden gem in the central of York, unless you are a local. The food was delicious. Service was great. The price was reasonable too. Highly recommended.

Stunning food at great prices!Starter were spicy buffalo MOMO, the flavour was "banging" (my wife's words) & steamed lamb MOMO the minced lamb was very good.Mains were just as excellent I had the Gurkha pork curry, maybe best I ever had andy wife pork dish was mouth watering.I also had the Gurkha spice tea (black) it's like mulled wine without the wine, it nice. I also hah the homemade lemonade which was perfect to cleans my pallet. We both had the Nepal liquor coffee to finish, it's very strong (not sure where the coffee is lol).Overall, I highly recommend!

Have eaten Nepalese food in many locations in the UK, from restaurants, to Military camps, and even home cooked from an old neighbour. This was the best I've ever had. Well worth a visit to this lovely little restaurant. Staff were very friendly, service was quick and the prices fair. Will definitely book a table again next time we're in York.

A little bit hidden but, if you find it, the food is amazing and made with love and passion because it is a family run business! I suggest to Book a table because it is usually full!
