Ordered for delivery. After 1.5 hours I called the restaurant. Person from restaurant lied saying it had already left. Showed up 1.5 hours later. Refused delivery. 3 hours for takeaway food is ridiculous. And to have someone lie about it is worse. Would never order or eat in this place again.

Food arrived 20 mins late and cold.I had to microwave everything. i had ordered a chicken tikka Buhna but they sent normal chicken, the curry was more like a spicy chicken stew than the chicken Tikka I was expecting, I rang and complained but the man on the phone said they don't do tikka Buhnas, well why did you take my order over the phone then and why is it on your website and just eat....makes no sense. He said he'd given me complimentary popadoms like that made up for cold food that I didn't order. also food was poor quality overall and I've had soooooo much better curry elsewhere, I wanted to try somewhere different i just wish I had read the reviews first on this place. Will not be spending money here again, bad experience all round. Avoid.

So disappointed. We have been visiting this restaurant for nearly twenty years albeit only once a year to celebrate our wedding anniversary as a special treat as it is pricier than most Indian restaurants in the area but was always worth the extra due to the excellent quality and taste of the food and the warm welcome received from the owner. We went last night and this restaurant has definitely gone down hill. The place was really cold to the point I ate in my coat as I just couldn't get warm, there were great big spider webs all over the toilet and the toilet seat was loose. The previously extensive menu has been severely reduced down and the food when it arrived was luke warm and average at best. The chicken in my tikka masala was just cubed chicken that was tough as old boots. The previous owner I believe handed over this place a couple of years ago and it has definitely gone down hill since then which is a massive shame. He was there last night and this is the only good thing about our whole experience, he must be horrified at the decline of his excellent restaurants reputation yet he still greets you like old friends and is curtious and welcoming, shame I can't say the same for the rest of the staff we encounter as they all looked like a smile would crack their face!.We will be finding another Indian restaurant to go to in future.

Do not order takeaways from Saagar either online, via the phone or via Deliveroo. They are well known to ignore orders and not deliver food as you will see if you look back through their reviews. This has happened to me and a close friend in quick succession. Bunch of cowboys. And the food ain't great anyway. Go elsewhere - so many better takeaways around.

I don’t see how this restaurant can keep getting away with there bad food and terrible service. So many bad reviewsAfter 1 hour half waiting then to be told it’s on its way then then say the driver is in traffic but still takes 55 minutes. The food finally turned up Stone cold which I couldn’t even stomach it was that terrible. The restaurant said when I called 50% off your next order- no thanks there won’t be a next order your food and service isn’t even worth paying half forAVOID AT ALL COST

Food arrived 2.5 hours late and ot was cold… when u try to complaint staff is very rude and ignorant. Food is very expensive and over prized. Wouldnt mind paying extra for large portion , but how do you justify one kebab peace for £6.95?? I can het a froEn pack of 10 for £3.99. Food is tasteless, wouldn’t visit again and suggest not to waste your money.

Had a picture to post clearly showing the rotting salad sent with our meal, but for some reason Google review is not allowing me to post it up. I'll describe it instead, the lettuce was brown and withered and the cucumber was slimey and we'll past its best (as in fur growing on it).We may have overlooked the salad being bad (you know it might be the over sight of one staff member responsible for making sure the salad was fresh), the rest of meal was so shockingly poor it was practically inedible. Old tough chicken and a tasteless madras that my girlfriend described as abortion food (like the kind you get in hospital) absolutely poor will not be going back.

Beautiful decor, polite, timely and helpful staff. Meal from beginning to end was excellent pickle tray and poppadoms then lamb puri and salmon sida followed by lamb and a prawn rogan josh with naan bread and pilau rice. . Served with iced drinks and then a hot wipe at the end. Well worth a visit and I can see why it has won awards.Thank you for a lively night.
