I don't say this lightly - the East Indian Chicken Jalfrezi was honestly one of the best meals that I have ever had. I see some of the negative reviews for this place, and I just didn't experience any of that. The two people working were incredibly kind and welcoming, the food was certainly not dry, and the meal was amazing. For those of you who have a high spice tolerance, and are tired of asking for very spicy food and not getting the spice, Shapla has you covered! I highly recommend!

Rude Went there for a small takeaway, was rudely told can not accept card payments and there is a minimum charge...which I was happy to pay, but he wanted me to get the cash.. ended up leaving the place. avoided.

Terrible! This was really awful... 3 supposedly different dishes all covered in the same orange gloop. The meat was all dry and tough like little bullets in this sludge.. The chapati had been microwaved into a hard, tough inedible disc. The worst takeaway Indian meal I've ever had. Didn't feel like it was freshly cooked. First and last order here! Like someone else said back to Kebab Mahal which serves amazing and consistently good food.

Honestly the worst Indian I have ever tasted, everything tastes the same, extremely disappointed, this place used to be decent but don't waste your time ive just chucked a bhuna and biriyani in the bin, will be going back to kebab mahal next time!!

Loved it. Very friendly stuff and good food. Even managed to give me something I asked for that wasn’t on the menu.

Still the best Indian takeaway in the Leith area. Perfectly seasoned. Loads of vegetarian choices. Consistently good and they are lovely folks. We've been eating from here since 2004. Recommended.

Top, top, top Indian takeaway. Food was very tasty and staff were brand new! Free bottle of coke with our order also! Will defo be back!

Absolutely horrific experience. We ordered £25 of food from just eats, the wait time was 45 mins. Up until the point of waiting 2 hours we called multiple times to check on our order. The person on the phone was extremely rude, we were repeatedly told our food was 10 minutes away and eventually 5 minutes away. We were hung up on at least twice. We ended up cancelling the order as it never came, when I asked about getting a refund I was told I had to contact just eats who sent me back to the restaurant as it was supposedly delivered. Again talking to the restaurant I was accused of giving the wrong address which I have used multiple times on just eats. This kind of customer service is appalling and I can't believe the disrespect with which their customers are treated. All I can hope is that people know how bad this place is and that I get my money back.

The best Indian take away I've tried so far in Edinburgh and I've tried loads. Found it by mistake one night and am sure an angel guided me there because its definitely food of the gods. I've been working my way through the menu and its been a delightful experience.

Delicious food, reasonable prices, great delivery service. Not as good at online ordering (doesn't work) and don't like taking card payments over the phone. Takeaway only, no tables. All the same, I heartily and thoroughly recommend this business. I have been a fan for years and consider them the best Indian takeaway in Edinburgh and one of the best restaurants in the city overall, considering their quality and prices.
