Slightly brusque service but the food is excellent, all our dishes were really tasty, and quick to come. Will definitely go back when we're nearby. It's small and cosy and a nice retreat from the busyness outside.

This amazing hidden gem lies in heart of Covent garden. The dishes are totally sublime cooked to perfection, all the dishes are found in the menu are extrramly authentic the recipes and ingredients are from 150 years old. We tried several dishes from chicken balti, lamb vindaloo they all tastes great highly recommended. The rice and nan bread are really good too some of the best nan breads I had.staffs are very welcoming friendly always seen to go extra mile to meed our needs. Those who tiered of trading normal Indian food my suggestion please try this restaurant..

Smells a bit musty, not so bad that I had to leave though. Dated decor. Willing, friendly staff. Served up a lovely biryani and pint of kingfisher for our pre show meal. £50 for two people so a little expensive but its to be expected in London i guess

Please avoid dining at the restaurant! They should be ashamed of calling this strand tandoori, they should change the name to Prison Tandoori. That the level of type of food they actually serve. The worse experience I had in UK. I don't even know where to start. We got our drinks quickly and order our food along with the Papadam. Literally we were starving and we had to wait almost 45 min and even then nothing was ready. For papadam take 45 minutes. Make no sense at all!! In the end they didn't actually give us the papadam and gave us the mains. We orders 2 chicken curry, 4 garlic naan, 2 chicken Tandoori briyani and for starters we order a duck grilled with onions. If I was a lawyer I would have sued the place of how terrible the food and experience was. Chicken curry was okay, chicken Tandoori briyani it was the worse ( it's like they just added rice on top of Tandoori and literally you can't taste nothing in your mouth), only good thing was the duck grilled and that was decent. If I had to give the best meal was the garlic naan and the onions from the duck grilled. The food was that bad the next table next to us asked us how was the experience and we said the worse food and even they didn't like the food and couldn't even finish the meal. I'm a big curry fan but this felt like punishment as if I have committed big crime and getting torture by food! I actually don't know what Prison food is like but surely prison food is still better than this. Anything you eat there is no sense of taste in mouth and for the first time we didn't even finish the food and just left!! For the price we have paid I would never ever in my life recommend this to anyone. Even if every restaurant in the world will close down and this was the only restaurant was open I will still put my hand down will never go back to the prison sorry restaurant big typo!! Another let down from an Indian restaurant in central. There is no spice to any food so if you are looking for a bit of curry with some flavour and spice then definitely look other direction.

AVOID THIS PLACE! Food was bland, service was terrible. We waited over 30 mins for drinks and papadum and the papadum didn’t even come, it was actually given to someone else. While we were waiting for our food to arrive, we saw customers who came in after us, were getting their food so we complained! We finally got our food and it was not worth the wait! The only good bits were the duck starter, onions and the cucumber. I would not dare to serve this food to homeless people. We did not finish the meal. Another group asked us how the food was, we told them it’s not good authentic Indian food and they too did not finish their food!

Don't go here guys! I thought I had covid cos the food was so tasteless! We ordered some papadum too which didn't even come! When we asked the waitor he said it's coming don't worry - still nothing! Food was very bland, portion size was tiny and service wasn't very good. I wouldn't recommend this place if you want proper authentic Indian spicy food!

The place should be called BLAND tandorii!!... Waited an hour for the food so thought to myself, hey must be worth it right ... Damm it was bad.. I mean it was really bad... Absolutely bland dried food.. chewy unbreakable naan and poor service..the best thing about this place is when we left !!

The food was absolutely amazing, i loved the food. However, the service was awful. The Man that served me and my friends was rude, had no manners and put up an argument for how we wanted to split the bill. He clearly did not want to be there. He forgot a few dishes that we ordered. When he delivered our food he left it all on one side of the table. carrying other plates and menus over our heads and our food. kept rushing me to finish my starter, this made me feel like i had to eat quickly and leave. he also dropped a tooth pick on the floor beside my table and still decided to put it on my table for me to use. i will not be returning here to dine there again. Although the food was brilliant, the service is not worth it.

7 of us, Amazing Food outstanding Service. we been recommended by several members of our work colleagues. When we turned up it was busy and the staff immediately without much delay was able to get a table for 7 of us. The food was served without any delay even through it was reasonably busy and most importantly without any hesitation in saying the food was mouth watering delicious exactly to my taste. the staffs were very polite well behaved. what else can i ask for. HIGHLY RECOMMEDED
