Nice atmosphere, let me and my family enjoy a sumptuous dinner. The restaurant was not crowded and the food was excellent, especially roast duck!

Avoid.Booked this restaurant as part of my Husband's 30th birthday celebrations and regretted it within 5 minutes. I called ahead to apologise and let them know we were running 10 minutes late due to unforeseen circumstances and all I got was "Yep" and the call ended. When we arrived, we were shown to our table and that was about the end of the service we were provided with. It took over 10 minutes for a drinks order to be taken. The staff only tended to the Chinese customers in the restaurant and we were sat in the corner and completely forgotten about. When our drinks finally came another 10 minutes after we ordered them, our food order was taken and again, took forever to arrive. We had some spring rolls and the tiny dipping sauce took another 5 minutes to arrive?! Our mains then came and the oodles came almost 10 minutes after the rest of the food. By which time, our food was all cold because we were waiting for them. It was impossible to get the attention of any of the servers because it was very evident that they were only interested in serving and entertaining the Chinese customers. The food was tasty, but seeing as we only got spring rolls and one main dish with rice and noodles each, a bill of over £80 was extremely expensive. Never, ever again. A disappointing meal for an important celebration.

People with dietary restrictions —— avoid this place.Completely misleading menu, bad customer service but good food.We had really mixed feelings about this restaurant. The reason why we came here is because they have allergen information on the menu (very rare for Chinese restaurant), which is really helpful for our gluten free guest. It seems it had a good selection of gluten free food. We had called the restaurant and the restaurant also called us on the same day prior the meal to confirm the booking, both times they mentioned they will prepare the gluten free menu as I have noted it on the booking form online. However when we were ordering in the restaurant, the waiter said “the allergen information is all wrong, nothing is gluten free”, which is unbelievable. It ended up escalating between about 4 different people. After checking with the manager, he said “you can eat steam fish, veg and plain rice”. We have expressed that it is not acceptable to have such a misleading menu. He said “yes the menu is wrong, it’s done by our boss, he will change it as some point”. It was so unhelpful and at a point we were planning to leave. Then the boss showed up who promised the chef could ‘custom make’ something for our friend. It was made out to be a big favour, bordering on a miracle. All the food (gluten or gluten free) was delicious. We were just very disappointed with the extremely misleading menu and rude customer service by the staff. Also the sake that we ordered was out of stock, but no one bother to tell us until we chased after 15 mins. Lastly there were mini egg shell in one of the fried rice.Advice to the restaurant: please update your outdated menu as it could cause serious health problems for some people if they don’t triple check with you before ordering. Chinese restaurant that cater people with special dietary needs are rare in London, you should take this chance to own this market

Ordered few dishes and they are all good apart from the drunken chicken. The chicken meat sadly tastes over marinated with alcohol. It is way too strong to make this dish enjoyable. However the Peking duck is outstanding with crispy skin and well marinated meat. The knife work to slice the duck was also excellent. Well worth a try!

·

They offer authentic Chinese food here and the updated menu includes some amazing Shanghainese dishes. Prices are also reasonable. Highly recommend.

This is a really good restaurant! The Peking duck is amazing and the recent renewing of the menu added so many excellent dishes. The tofu in crab is especially tasty. The staff is super friendly as well! Really enjoyed dinning there. Price is also very fair. Hard to get this kind of balance in Chinese restaurants in London now.

I have been to Shikumen with my friends last night, I have to say the food here is exceptional and one of the best in London! We had Beijing Duck, some Shanghai cuisine like braised pork belly, (红烧肉), 上海菜饭, 腌笃鲜, larimichthys crocea, crab tofu and a few others, especially the Beijing Duck is comparable to the ones that I had in Beijing and I really enjoy every of the dishes here. The place has been refurbished to offer great dining experience, it also offers cocktails which is the icing on the cake.I would higher recommend for this place for friends get together or business dining.

First time dining out in a very very long time. Delicious foods and very friendly staffs. I particularly like the duck. Have tried takeout before, but taste much better in the restaurant. Sichuan style Beef and the vegetables also were pretty tasty. But the fish was a bit salty for my taste. Would like to go again😁

I have walked past here for years and finally in my search for a nice Chinese restaurant came across this one during my search. It had good reviews so I was confident it would be good, a good indication is seeing Chinese people eating there. Anyway I went there for my birthday and the three of us we ate the peking duck, sweet and sour chicken, beef with red wine sauce, vegetables and seafood noodles. What a feast and we got the 30 pounds off and I was stuffed. The peking duck was delicious crispy tasty skin with pancakes and buns. The chicken was spot on not thick batter and tasty, with interesting fruit such as lychee. The beef was tender and the red wine sauce was morish. The seafood noodles was fresh and noodles were not over cooked. Oh the fried squid was tender squid with crispy finish. I was very happy I just wish they wished me happy birthday I did mention it in the booking. Some other lady got a small cake and candle and was wished happy birthday I thought it would be me next but it wasn't to be. Anyway great food.
