Gearing up for our final visit to Suchard's before it closes for good at the end of March. This is a gem of a local restaurant, reliably good food, relaxed and unpretentious, friendly service and brilliant vegetatian options. Coming here is like putting on a favourite pair of slippers. It was our first post-lockdown meal out when things started to reopen in 2020 as we missed it so much, so I don't know how we're going to cope when it goes for good. The som tum, gaprow, nasi goreng, pad kee moa and jungle curry and particular favourite dishes, but honestly I've never ordered anything from the menu that wasn't delcicious. Thank you to Suchard and the team for all the wonderful meals and we wish you a long, happy and well-deserved retirement!

Photos are half eaten lol - we loved the place so much we wanted to leave a review mid meal. Lovely atmosphere, good food, fast service.

Had dinner here on a Thursday, we ordered the duck spring roll, Thai green curry and Weeping tiger for two of us. The wait was quite long (~40min) but the food was well worth it. Weeping tiger was considerably the best unassuming steak (can do without the rice as it's not a "saucy" dish), Thai green curry was really spicy too which gives a good kick. Love them!

Beautiful as always. The most succulent and tender lamb possible in my massaman. The waitress was so lovely as well. The whole family had a wonderful evening.

Great Thai cafe with authentic dishes and a friendly atmosphere. Tucked down Tooley Street a great place to enjoy great food at reasonable prices too. Chillie ratings are accurate and not rated to an English palate but if you like it hot and spicy ask for 5 star chillies and you won't be disappointed!

Ordered for collection and was told it would be ready in 10mins. This was the sign I should've listened too. Collected food. Waste of £25. Fish cakes, wings and Singapore noodles ordered. Food tasted reheated. Fish cakes and wings dry and tough. Noodles wet and clumpy. If noodles were freshly fried they would not be wet and clumpy. If Fish cakes were fresh they would not be dry and rubbery. Have a look at pictures to see the prawns added to the noodles. Disappointed and hungry. 😔

Food is tasty and fair amount for the price you pay. We did not wait too much for the food to be served. The staff is very attend and polite but however are constantly walking up next to the tables and removing empty dishes which gives you a feel of "rushing". In the pictures: Tofu curry, Thai Pad with prawns.

Really not great for strict vegetarians and therefore vegans can forget coming here (due to shrimp paste and fish sauce). Also no full-Asian tables - food lacked flavour like LIME, like chilli, like garlic, like texture, like salt, too much oil... generous with veg but really not a place I’d go back to even though I’m local & the honest and efficient service.

As crazy as it might seem, I felt I was time traveling and found myself BACK in Thailand 🇹🇭 😂INCREDIBLE!Myself and partner were saying how this time last year we where traveling the whole of Thailand, so we decided to come in here for a birthday treat and it was the best decision we made. Food was delicious, authentic and tasted amazing. We’ve been to lots of Thai restaurants and nothing has came close to proper food we’ve tried abroad until we came here! For a small restaurant it’s crazy busy. Lots of people coming in and out, the service was quick, fast, and though the waitresses didn’t have the best of English I felt they tried their best. Got a 3 course here and would highly recommend. Everything was amazing 👌🏼 next time I’m in London I would not hesitate coming back here! 🌟 🌟 🌟

Update to my initial review:Went here two more times and each time it was becoming worse. For some unknown reason their chef makes PadKrapow Duck and Sukiyaki Fried Glass Noodles ridiculously and unnecessarily sweet. When we told the waiter that the dish was actually sweet, he apologized, took it away and in literally 5 minutes brought back the same plate - their genius chef added salty fish sauce and considered it problem solved. Also, their Green Curry Fried Rice is seriously lacking green curry in it. The rice tastes like it was semi-fried and over-steamed at the same time and sprinkled over with a dash, just a dash, of low-potency green curry. They keep SomTam in the fridge and it's not freshly made. It's very very very very cold, sloppy, the green papaya isn't crunchy anymore (because it seems like was cut up the day before) and tomatoes taste like they are about to start to ferment. Also, half of the plate is garnished with gigantic lettuce leaf with thinly sliced white cabbage and carrots that are disguised to look like green papaya, essentially fooling the customer because it's also covered with giant slice of cucumber and tomato that prevent you from seeing this whole trick.Their Larb Duck had some funny taste of what seems like a little bit of saffron, which is just unnecessary. And there's also this gigantic lettuce leaf that covers half of the plate and makes it look like there's more larb then there really is on the plate...My final verdict is that this place is SUPER MEDIOCRE and I have no idea why the heck did I leave a very nice initial review that you can see below:Aroi maak! try their SomTam and "imperial platter" along with Singha beer- actually everything is good here. Definitely coming back for their PadSewYu Duck.(UPDATE: Definitely NOT coming back)
