India Lounge in Cheltenham

OK meal last Saturday but chef speciality Lamb Hyderabadi contained cubes of meat that were just plain tough! Staff very friendly didn’t really resolve our complaint adequately.

If you are an Indian/neighbors, this place is not for you. All the veg and chicken dishes we ordered were very bland.

Good steady curry !! You wouldn't travel out fo town for it but if you find yourself there a good feed is assured.

I so badly would like to give this 5 stars The staff were first class. My only criticism is the meat. Both the chicken and lamb were dry and my daughter had to spit out some chicken as she couldn't chew it.The dishes however and I'm talking about the sauses were bloody amazing. Creamy, thick and extremely flavoursome. Just let down by overcooked meat.Still highly recommended though and the price was reasonable.

Chefs specialities are different from the normal curry house fare and not an oily curry in sight. Very tasty.

Surprisingly good and spicy curries! But was disappointed that the high chair provided to us was quite dirty. We had to clean it ourselves.

Very tasty little Indian. Staff are more than friendly and the dishes are varied. We both ordered a curry and my partner (who isn't a big one for hot food) was very pleased with hers. Not too hot, but a warm and very flavourful dish.If you're visiting, parking close by can be tricky, so worth bearing that in mind!Quite an intimate dining setting, which is nice, but the limited seating means that booking is essential. Highly recommend!

Lovely food, the dinner for 4 with starter was just under £100 which is pricey but we felt it was good value. Overall very enjoyable, only criticism is that the staff could have worn masks and it made us feel slightly uncomfortable. I do not believe this is a legal requirement in restaurants however it seemed odd that none of the staff had masks on whilst serving the public. Still a very enjoyable evening.

I am glad that this evening’s takeaway was not my first experience of The India Lounge. Always 5*, but tonight, only 3*I would normally say that great care is taken with food quality and presentation (even takeaway) but I didn’t feel it tonight.Oh well, anybody can have an off day!!
