Lovely place with huge meals. So much better than I expected

Local village pub that has recently changed hands. The atmosphere in the pub is radically different to that under previous ownership - harmonious, pleasant, inviting and welcoming. Such a refreshing change and much needed and welcomed. Food is served and, whilst not eating on this occasion, the Sunday roast looks fantastic. Good range of beers, wines and spirits. We will return for a meal soon.

We visited after a windy walk locally and it was lovely. The owners were so welcoming and friendly, especially to our puppy who is still getting used to the pub environment. We had the scampi and the food was served quickly and was delicious - couldn't fault it. A lovely pub with lovely owners. Would definitely recommend!

Visited for the first time recently and the place is great. Good drinks selection, lovely staff, and these guys know how to make really good chips, which is frankly more important than anything else in this review.

Great pub now with many more locals now the pub has new owners. Looking forward to a good Xmas.

Best pint of John Smith's I've had in a long while, wife said vodka and tonic also very good.

Excellent, made us feel really, really welcome. Nothing was too much for them. The food was very tasty and plenty of it. Great value for money. Our little furbabies were welcome in the bar area. The staff were very friendly. We will be returning soon, thank you x

It's been a pleasure finding this pub on our doorstep whilst on holiday. Wonderful atmosphere and very friendly staff and owner. Feel like we're part of the furniture by our third visit

We really enjoyed the live music there but we were the only 2 ppl listening to it. Sat behind us there was a lady with a cockatoo who made noise constantly making it almost impossible to focus on gentleman's beautiful guitar music. The owner did nothing to accommodate the musician. The food was decent for a pub. My burger was nice and pink and it made me really happy although no-one asked me how I wanted it cooked(maybe a lucky guess?). Chips were a big disappointment and coleslaw had no seasoning in it just cabbage and mayo, not even a piece of onion not to mention grated carrot. The salad was nice and fresh and I enjoyed it. The lamb kebabs we were told were in fact made of beef. Also kofta and kebab are two different dishes and these were definitely kofta(kebabs are not made with mince meat kofta is). Beers were nice and the selection was decent. The outside area was very pleasant, we could enjoy a pint outside as the weather was fantastic. The interior of the pub is nice and cozy, we enjoyed the inside as much. The overall experience was rather positive but if they're organising a live music event maybe next time they should sit guests with noisy birds in a section where it wouldn't disturb people that actually have respect for artists and want to listen. The service was very well mannered, polite and welcoming. We will come back to give Sunday roast a shot at proving Black Swan lives up to its reputation. Offcourse we will post another separate review.
