Jaipur Spice in York

Just got to York and fancied a local curry. Must say, really impressed. Deeeelicious 😁😁😁

We ordered a Takeaway at 17.00 hrs on 01/01/2022 firstly we didn't receive our food until 18.20 the mains were ok nothing to write home about but we ordered 2x pickle trays 8x poppadoms and onion Bhaji to start. Having Eaten in the restaurant many times, but 1st takeaway for us i can honestky say it will be our last. The pickle tray was a joke The normal mango chutney, a thin milky substance that tasted nothing like a minted yoghurt,as for the onion tomato and coriander we literally just had onion , The poppadoms were that thin they would not come out of the bag without disintegrating into crisps,The Onion Bahji were 4 small Bahji resembling something one might get out of the fridge at your local Spar. So the Mains were by that time spoilt and disappointing as we normally enjoy our starters that much we often remark in the restaurant that we could have just had the starters. Very Disappointed. Oh by the way at £50 for a meal for two it was also expensive for such a disappointing meal.

Absolutely disgusting my order arrived in a bag coated in either engine oil Or Diesel even the food containers. All I got from the restaurant was we will give you a discount on your next order.If that’s the response I wonder if food hygiene will feel the same way.Never will I order from this place every again food safety doesn’t seem to be a priorityUnfortunately I can’t do a smell the contaminated bag. But I assure you it’s not good

Fantastic restaurant, friendly service, amazing authentic food and at a good price. Best Indian in York, they also do Takeaway so it's definitely worth a go.

Ordered on Deliveroo. After 40 minutes of waiting for our order, we were called by Deliveroo to inform us that our order had been cancelled because the restaurant had given the order to the wrong rider.Jaipur Spice were closed and not contactable.We never received our food. Disappointing service.

Excellent range of delicious food to eat in or takeout at great prices Plenty of room for large parties Lots of parking directly outside. Discounts for NHS staff.

Very disappointed. Ordered and paid for meal two weeks ago, chased delivery three times from 7:30pm to 9:30pm assured on its way but wasn't even cooked. Order cancelled, refund promised and chased six times, not yet refunded, fed up of endless promises and excuses. I am a frequent customer for several years, I will miss the quality of the food but I won't tolerate poor service! Legal action seems my only option left.

Incredibly attentive, polite and funny staff, food is delicious and really good portion sizes for what you pay, I like that you can choose the spice of your curry here too. Highly recommend!!

Arkhan Ghosht is amazing, coupled with a garlic and chilli naan, it tastes amazing but will blow your socks off so watch out! Nice environment too with friendly staff, well worth a visit.

The outside looks a little like a convenience store but inside decor makes up for this. There is a shared parking area in front of the building. Check signage for pay and display.The inside is stylish and spacious, and can cater for any size party. The staff are friendly.Plenty to chose from on the menu and the prices are much the same as other Indian restaurants.Marked a 3 star only because at the end of the meal we were given a desert menu and then forgotten about, which we put down to the fact they had a party of 20 arrive at that time. Wouldn't have ordered a desert anyway so didn't spoil the evening. Still shouldn't have happened but understand why it did. Enjoyed the meals we did have.
