Been eating from here for many years, excellent food and friendly employees,if you want restaurant quality food at home order from here.

I visit here regularly. Good food, the owner is always pleasant and busy.

Ordered via JustEat, curry container was empty and a huge puddle of curry and mashed up paper in the bottom of the bag. Rang up restaurant and they said there was 'nothing we can do.' No refund, no replacement food. The manager was rude. Never ordering from them again.

If this could be -100 rated it would be. We was given the completely wrong order for 1 person when was a group of 7. The manager is the rudest man possible shouting at us refusing to give us a refund or even provide us with the correct food, then decided to put a customer on the phone to speak to us. Absolutely shocking and awful!

Ordered via Just Eat. Came promptly but lukewarm. I ordered vegetable bhuna which promised a mix of chickpea, cauliflower and okra, instead I got mixed veg of carrot, cabbage and onion. It was pleasant enough but I was disappointed.

Ordered through Just Eat. Ordered Prawn Dansak, chicken tikka masala, chicken madras. Each meal was in identical sauce. It was later on when we ordered and it’s obvious that rather than turn the order and money down they put the chicken and then the prawns in to whichever sauce they had left at that time. It was identical, deep red, had separated and there was a layer of oil on the top of each takeaway carton. It was the first Saturday that the pubs were open after lockdown and late. I think they hoped that we would be too drunk to notice. WRONG, it was inedible and we binned it. Complete waste of money.Do not order from here.

I go to a lot of Indian restaurants. I am generally left disappointed as even the ones with good reviews are very samey, often either ridiculously spicy of completely bland and often full of oil and colouring. This place is remarkably good for the price. It looks outside like another bog standard Indian place but the two times I got take aways in April they were really well spiced, good quality meat/chicken and generally excellent. Very impressed and will go again... update: been twice in recent weeks - once it was only "ok" but this week it was excellent again... every restaurant will have bad days - still the best value for the type of take away it is in York. Mirchiz on Fishergate is a bit better quality food but also more expensive. For a "local Indian" type restaurant it's better than the competition.

Ordered food at 6.30pm. Received it at 8.50pm. My husband had already had to leave for a night shift and kids had to go to bed so was a complete waste. No apology, offer of discount or any sort of compensation. The food was luke warm, greasy, oily and very small portions.
